Competitions
Spotlight24 has opportunities for students to be involved. Below are the details of how students can be involved in 2024.
Students of the Diocese can show off their skills and experience to other students, parents, teachers and the world.
The competitions are designed to be run either in class or for interested students to work on their entries outside of the classroom. Prizes will be awarded to all team members of the winning team and a special prize will be won by the school. Each competition will have a number of different award categories.
Spotlight Logo Competition Winners
The 2024 Spotlight Conference Student Logo competition featured some excellent productions by our students with close to 150 entries. The student entries had to reflect the theme of the event "Spotlight on Artificial Intelligence in Education” and could use AI tools in their design. Entries also had to include a description of their design process which led to the final logo entry. Winners of each division receive personal AirPod Pros and additionally, an iPad for their school, whilst runners-up receive personal AirPods.
Leah Dawson
Year 5 at St Clare’s, Narellan Vale
I went for a robot coming out of the screen with a colourful background in Adobe Firefly and got what I liked. I went to Keynote and added in the text (Spotlight 2024 artificial intelligence in education) and saved and uploaded it.

Year 10 at St Joseph’s, Albion Park
My logo features a robot, representing artificial intelligence, the robot has a book hovering above it’s hand to represent the education aspect of the design. The 'Spotlight 2024' text and the CEDoW logo are glowing to symbolise Spotlight. The background and book embodies the first things that come to my mind when I think-education.
Runner's Up
Connor Crossingham
Year 3 at St John’s, Dapto
I chose a robot in school because it was to explain about education. I used the glitch background to explain AI.
Balin Crews
Year 7 at John Therry, Rosemeadow
I created an image of a lightbulb growing and getting brighter like the future of Artificial Intelligence in education. I wanted it to have a mechanical feel like past and futuristic technologies, but to be also growing like technology is currently doing.
